Mina Odile is a writer, originally from New York City and now living in London. She moved to the U.K. ten years ago for university. At Oxford, she studied for a BA, then an MSt in English Literature, specialising in early modern literature and 16th century epic poetry. As a student, she was a founding editor of NOTES Oxford, a biweekly literary zine. She was also awarded runner-up and again short-listed for two “All Souls” literary essay competitions in the ISIS literary magazine, judged by guest panelists including the likes of Peter Stothard, Margaret Drabble and Stephen Fry. Since moving to London, she has had short stories and essays published in Litro, Polyester, The Book Collector and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. Mina is half Iranian and half German-Jewish-American, a combination which is about as confusing as it sounds. She has previously translated theatrical work between French and English, and also filmed a short documentary on Peter Schumann, of the Bread and Puppet Theater. Mina is working on her first novel, which explores issues of immigration through the lens of theft and ownership.
